Supporting postgraduates

We are keen to support our postgraduate community during the early stages of their career.

Our Graduate School works in partnership with academic schools, professional service departments and Kent Union to ensure that we meet both the academic and social interests of our taught and research postgraduate students.

Guidance for supervisors

Supervisor sessions

These sessions provide supervisors with a brief on University regulations, while offering support as they work to cultivate skill and independence in their research students.

Developing as a Supervisor

This module offers supervisors, whether new to the role or more experienced, the opportunity to develop and enhance their understanding of the supervision process and their own supervisory skills.

Research Degree Supervisor's handbook

This handbook covers all aspects of the postgraduate research student journey as well as post-graduation career advice.

It aims to keep supervisors up-to-date on University regulations, and support and guidance available to supervisors and their research students.

The Graduate School works to provide support and guidance for research degree supervisors.
