The news and events page serves to:

Heading	Heading with optional introductory text	Introductory text is usually uneccesary the as content is self-explanatory.
News listing	News listing block	School news and stories to promote the school through students, staff, alumni, research and notable activities, topics (eg employability) and campaigns These can be optionally filtered by categories if necessary These are pulled from the school's news 'blog' (Wordpress software is used as a content management system for school news). Create school stories using Wordpress
Social media feature	Social media panel	Featured social media quote specially curated promote recruitment and support a campaign.
Events listing	Events listing block	Externally focussed events eg open lectures, open days, conferences, exhibitions These are pulled from the events factory (universities administration site for adding events) Create events using the Events factory
Tertiary content	Featured links	Generic university-wide student events: Sports and fitness Arts and culture Musical community Clubs and societies.
