Getting set up with Google Analytics

How to gain access to Google Analytics and creating your own advanced account

Creating an account

Before you request access you need to create a Google account using your full university email address (i.e. S.Sample@kent.ac.uk).

To sign up using your university email, you need to use this link: https://accounts.google.com/SignUpWithoutGmail

Once you have signed up, fill out the request access form (link on second tab)

Request access

To request access to Google Analytics please email the Web Solutions team via the IT HelpDesk (helpdesk@kent.ac.uk). Be sure to include the following information:

  • Name
  • Email address (e.g. S.Sample@kent.ac.uk)
  • Department
  • Role in Department
  • Which website(s) are you requesting access for

Terms and conditions

All staff who own or manage a website at the University of Kent and on the kent.ac.uk domain are permitted to having access to the central analytics data. An account must be created (see above) and the Google Terms and Conditions accepted before we can provide a user access. In addition we require the following conditions to be adhered to:

  1. All data must be kept private and not shared to users outside of the University of Kent without permission from the Corporate Communications team
  2. If you leave the University, please contact web-consultants@kent.ac.uk with your full name, Kent email address and the websites you were tracking so that we can remove your permissions.
