  2. Close down audience tab, open up "Behavior" then click "Site Content" and "All Pages". From here you should be able to see all the statistics for all the page on the Kent site
  3. Filter results by specifying your site URL into the search bar, so for example history site would be "www.kent.ac.uk/history/"
  4. Select a page by clicking on it's link. Navigate to the drop down menu where it says "Secondary Dimension" and click that and then type in "Source/Medium". From here you should be able to see all the different external sources of traffic and the page views associated with them.
  5. Traffic Categories:
    • Organic: Page was accessed via a search engine e.g. google
    • (direct)/(none): Google has problems identifing the source that has given the user access to the page. Examples of this may be from a link in a pdf, a bookmark, a URL typed directly into a search bar
    • Referral: Page was accessed via a link on a different site
    • Customised Category: Such as "Guardian/BannerAdvertmarch" is usually a google tracking link. Google tracking link tags URLs to identify how users are getting to your site. Often used to compare how well internet ad campaigns are doing. Tutorial can be found here.
