Getting around

Our campuses at Canterbury and Medway are easy to find your way around, whatever your mode of travel.

Sustainable travel

Kent is committed to reducing the impact of transport and travel by encouraging our staff, students and visitors to use alternatives to single-occupancy cars.

Cycling

There are over 1,300 cycle parking spaces across our Canterbury and Medway campuses.

We also provide shower facilities at Canterbury and Medway.

Staff wishing to use the parking and/or showers will need to contact our Transport team to arrange access using their Kent One card.

Cycle to Work Scheme

The Cycle to Work Scheme offers staff the opportunity to buy a new bike and accessories at a discounted rate.

We recognise the benefits of bus, train and coach travel. We work closely with local companies to subsidise improvements and offer discounted travel for our staff.

Campus Shuttle

Kent operates a free coach service between Medway and Canterbury campuses for students and staff.

Staff parking

Parking spaces are available for use across our Canterbury and Medway campuses.

To use them, staff must have a registered virtual parking permit or display a parking permit in the windscreen of their car.

Visitor parking

All visitors are encouraged to use public transport wherever possible as parking spaces on campus are limited.

Business-related parking

For business visitors who need to drive, you can apply for a free permit for them to park.

Other visitors

Visitors coming to campus for a non-business reason, such as seeing a show at Gulbenkian, should park in the Pay and Display carparks at Canterbury campus.
